ALERT

Have you heard?
Bills A-8/S-49, S-7 take away control of your local school district!

These bills, if passed, would establish a pilot program in the Department of Education for the organization of a County Administrative School District. This experiment would be for a period of TEN years! Gloucester County has been identified as one of the counties that would be eligible to participate.

• Under the program, schools would be governed by a state appointee and four freeholder board appointments. You would lose local control!
• The decision to apply for the program rests solely with the Board of Chosen Freeholders and the County Superintendent, upon approval of the Commissioner of Education.
• There is no detailed language in any of these bills that addresses students or the quality of their education.
• The bills do not require the consent of any other community or governmental unit in the county. It does not give local residents any say over the organization or operation of its local schools.

The undersigned Woodbury school officials and residents oppose these bills. PLEASE EXPRESS YOUR INDIVIDUAL FEELINGS BY CONTACTING THE LEGISLATORS AND OFFICIALS ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THIS FLYER.
