West End Wild for the Wings

(This entry was submitted by West End Memorial Principal, Mr. Myers.)

As part of a school-wide fundraiser, about 40 students and adults from West End Memorial were in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 28th to see the Philadelphia Wings lacrosse team defeat the Colorado Mammoth.

Enthusiasm was evident on the faces of all in attendance. The level of excitement was raised a few notches when the students were surprised right before halftime with a trip down to the field level. The students were greeted by the Wings mascot, Mad Dog, and were escorted onto the field.

As the players returned for the second half, our West End students were a part of the “High Five Tunnel” and greeted all of the Wings players back to the field. One of the students was even able to take home a game ball!
