College Students Speak with Seniors

(This post was submitted by Mr. Murphy, Director of Pupil Personnel Services at Woodbury.)

On Friday, January 9th, nine graduates from the class of 2008 came back to share their experiences with our students concerning the transition from high school to college. In addition to meeting with our seniors in the auditorium, the students visited three different AVID classes during the morning.

The graduates' stories emphasized the importance of knowing yourself as a student and being able to manage your time. Other issues that were discussed were selecting a roommate, the use of technology in college, money management and doing research.

Each expressed how the diversity of WHS helped to prepare for the larger college campus. Also, all indicated that they felt well-prepared academically for their freshman year in college.
